How to Drive with the Leftovers

Holiday travel means that you'll be making a trip to visit the relatives. It also means that you'll inevitably be carrying leftovers home with you in your car. Perhaps you might also be bringing food with you when you visit your family. Traveling with food can be a little bit tricky, but with the right amount of care it's something that can be done quite easily. Here are a few pointers to keep in mind as you travel home with food:

  • Wrap bite-sized foods up in a baking sheet.
  • Carry pies and other crumbly items in a pie plate, and ensure it's wrapped up carefully.
  • Wrap cold (saran-wrapped) items in a newspaper, put the whole thing inside of a sealed plastic bag, and put ice packs inside of the plastic bag.

One thing to remember is that you'll also want to come and see us at Courvelle Toyota HappyTown USA in Opelousas before you head out on the road. We can service your car to help avoid some of the breakdowns and other car problems which might come up in transit to your destination, and we're here to help!
